Movie night - "The Wishing Tree"

On 18th of May (Aberdeen) and 26th of May (Edinburgh) we have watched "The Wishing Tree" (Copacul Dorintelor: Amintiri din Copilarie in Romanian) movie, created in benefit of the Hospice Casa Sperantei from Bucharest. It follows the story of 12 year old Mara who is diagnosed with a serious illness and embarks on a fantastic adventure filled with hope. Mara discovers a magical tree located near the palliative care centre that is a portal to her favourite story: the book of Ion Creanga, "Childhood Memories". To watch the trailer please click here.
The film has been written and produced by a member of our team, Mihai Manescu - Communications Manager for Hospice Casa Sperantei. Some scenes are also filmed at children’s centre from Copaceni. All proceeds from the film benefit our organisation’s palliative care work in Romania and those involved with creating the film gave their time and efforts without pay to ensure as much as possible is raised.
